Should I show my wife sympathy, or let her deal with her problem alone?

It sounds like as far as divorces go that you've got a decent enough relationship with her. Although you're not required or able to help her financially with this problem, I see no harm in lending an ear or possibly some advice just as you would any friend that might be in the same situation.
