Firing mode changer on new 2010 jg ak47 airsoft gun is super loose?

i bought the new jg ak47 airsoft gun and when i try and change the firing mode, it just falls down to semi auto so i can't keep it on safety or full auto. should i try and take it apart even though i might not be able to put it back together? any suggestions?
