What were the benefits and drawbacks of going to war with Korea?

History books will tell you that the benefits, were that the U.S. invasion helped secure a more stable Free-Market non-communist country in Asia. It was us trying to keep an Asian Ally basically. We were also trying to show our military muscle. Which sort of backfired. The drawbacks are that we turned North Korea into a hermit of a country. Many South Koreans resent us because they think we are blocking a re-unification of the Korea's.
